Art Blakey with the Original Jazz Messengers is an album by American jazz drummer Art Blakey and his group the Jazz Messengers, released in 1956. The music is hard bop with driving rhythms, blues-based themes and collective improvisation, and it was an early example of the group's development toward a consistent band identity in the 1950s.
