George London

George London was a Canadian-born operatic bass-baritone who began his professional career in the 1940s and became associated with major international opera houses. Known for a dark, dramatic voice, he specialised in repertoire ranging from Mozart and Verdi to Wagner, and after retiring from the stage he helped support young singers through a foundation established in his name.
