Anton Dermota

Anton Dermota was a Slovenian-born Austrian operatic tenor who began his career in the 1930s and became closely associated with the Vienna State Opera. A lyric tenor by fach, his repertoire focussed on Mozart and German romantic roles as well as Lieder, and his performances emphasised clear legato and textual clarity throughout a long career in central European opera houses.
