Rosanna Carteri was an Italian operatic soprano who began her career in the late 1940s and specialised in the lyric and bel canto repertoire. Her repertoire encompassed Italian and French roles by composers such as Donizetti, Verdi and Massenet, and she sang regularly at major Italian opera houses and international festivals.
