Kenny Drew

Kenny Drew was an American jazz pianist from New York City who began his career in the 1940s, emerging in the bebop and hard bop scenes and relocating to Copenhagen in the early 1960s. His style blended blues-rooted phrasing, sophisticated harmonic voicings and a strong rhythmic sense, and over decades he recorded and performed mainly in small-group formats while contributing to the post‑bop and European jazz repertoire.
