De Staat is a 1976 composition by Dutch composer Louis Andriessen. The piece combines elements of minimalism, jazz and rhythmic, Stravinskian-inspired propulsion with amplified winds, brass and chorus, and represents a pivotal point in Andriessen's move toward politically engaged, ensemble-centred works in the mid-1970s.
