Violin Concertos

Album by Felix Mendelssohn & Christian Sinding & Lea Birringer & Hofer Symphoniker & Hermann Bäumer

Violin Concertos is a set of violin concertos by Felix Mendelssohn, composed in 1844–1845. The works blend Classical forms with early Romantic melodic writing, featuring lyrical solo lines, virtuosic passagework and close interplay between soloist and orchestra, and they occupy a prominent place in nineteenth-century violin repertoire and in Mendelssohn's output.
