November Steps is a composition by Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu, premiered in 1967 for biwa, shakuhachi and Western orchestra. The piece juxtaposes the timbres of traditional Japanese instruments with modern orchestral textures, blending elements of post-war modernism and Japanese musical aesthetics and marking a key moment in Takemitsu's development of an East–West musical synthesis.
