Symphonies nos. 1 and 2
Album by Max Bruch & Staatskapelle Weimar & Michael Halász
Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2 are orchestral works by German composer Max Bruch, composed in 1868 and 1870. They are rooted in the Romantic orchestral tradition with lyrical lines, clear but rich orchestration and classical forms, and they appear early in Bruch's career, reflecting his move from symphonic experimentation toward the concerto work for which he is better known.
