Symphonies 3 & 4

Album by Johannes Brahms & Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen & Daniel Harding

Symphonies Nos. 3 and 4 are orchestral works by the German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1883 and 1885 respectively. They exemplify Brahms's mature Romantic idiom, characterised by dense yet transparent orchestration, rich harmonic language and motivic cohesion, and they represent late, integrative contributions to his symphonic output that consolidate his development as a symphonist.
