Pini di Roma / Fontane di Roma / Feste Romane

Album by Ottorino Respighi & NBC Symphony Orchestra & Arturo Toscanini

This release is a compilation of orchestral tone poems by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, composed between 1916 and 1928. They showcase Respighi's late-Romantic orchestral palette with vivid, pictorial scoring, bold brass and woodwind colours and expansive programme-based structures, reflecting his mature contribution to the early 20th-century orchestral tone-poem tradition and his role in popularising evocative, city-inspired symphonic writing.
