Piano Concertos nos. 3, 4
Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Wiener Philharmoniker & Horst Stein & Friedrich Gulda
Piano Concertos Nos. 3 and 4 are orchestral concertos for piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in the early 1800s (circa 1800–1806). Musically they chart Beethoven's move from his early classical roots toward a more assertive, individual voice, expanding the concerto's dramatic interplay between soloist and orchestra through bold harmonic shifts, distinctive motifs and increased structural freedom.
