Symphony no. 6 in B minor, op. 74 "Pathetique"

Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74, 'Pathétique' is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed in 1893. The symphony exemplifies late Romantic orchestral writing with expansive melodies, colouristic orchestration and sharply contrasting moods, and, as Tchaikovsky's final completed symphony featuring a sombre finale, it occupies an important place in his late output and in the wider late Romantic symphonic tradition.
