Daphnis et Chloé is the complete ballet by French composer Maurice Ravel, composed in 1912. The work is an expansive impressionist orchestral ballet characterised by lush orchestration, modal and chromatic harmonies and prominent choral textures that evoke a pastoral ancient-Greek atmosphere, and it occupies a central place in Ravel's orchestral output as an example of his mature orchestral technique.
