Symphony No. 3 ‘Kaddish’
Album by Leonard Bernstein & New York Philharmonic & Felicia Montealegre & Jennie Tourel
Symphony No. 3 'Kaddish' is the third symphony by American composer Leonard Bernstein, premiered in 1963. The large-scale choral symphony combines orchestra, chorus and spoken narration, drawing on Jewish liturgical material and theatrical gestures to address themes of faith, doubt and remembrance, and reflects Bernstein's increasing engagement with vocal and theatrical forms in his mid-career.
