The Thirteenth Symphony (Тринадцатая симфония) is a symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich, completed in 1962. A large-scale choral symphony that sets a cycle of poems for bass soloist and men's chorus, it features stark, incisive orchestration, dramatic vocal writing and bleak, often sardonic moods, and forms part of Shostakovich's late-period output engaging with social and political themes.
