Suites pour orchestre: suites n°1 et n°2
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Bath Festival Orchestra & Yehudi Menuhin
Suites pour orchestre: suites n°1 et n°2 are orchestral suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century (circa 1717–1725). Typical of Baroque dance-suite form, they employ a string orchestra with continuo and wind parts, featuring contrasting dance movements, intricate counterpoint and vivid tonal colours, and they are representative works of Bach's instrumental output during his mature period.
