Symphony no. 4

Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1900 and premiered in 1901. The work combines late-Romantic orchestration with a comparatively lighter, more transparent texture and concludes with a soprano-led finale setting a simple, folk-like text, placing it as a transitional piece in Mahler's output between his expansive early symphonies and the more concise, introspective late works.
