The Carnival of the Animals
Album by Camille Saint‐Saëns & Louis Frémaux
The Carnival of the Animals is a musical suite by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, composed in 1886. Musically it is a short, characterful suite that uses distinctive combinations of orchestral and solo timbres, playful pastiche and programme-style gestures to evoke various animals, and it was composed late in Saint-Saëns's career as a lighter, illustrative counterpart to his larger-scale works.
