L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato (disc 2)
Album by George Frideric Handel
L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato is an oratorio by German-British composer Georg Friedrich Händel, composed in 1740. The work juxtaposes lively, pastoral passages with more introspective, contemplative movements, combining solo vocal writing, choral sections and varied orchestral colour to illustrate contrasting moods derived from Milton's poetry and to exemplify Handel's approach to dramatic contrast within his choral output.
