String Quartets, op. 18 nos. 1–3

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Chiaroscuro Quartet

String Quartets, Op. 18 Nos. 1–3 are the first three string quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed between 1798 and 1800 and published in 1801. Musically they adhere to classical-period forms while introducing Beethoven's expanding harmonic language, heightened rhythmic energy and early structural experiments that foreshadow his later chamber works.
