Symphony no. 3 / Symphony no. 1
Album by Robert Schumann & Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen & Paavo Järvi
Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 3 are orchestral compositions by Robert Schumann, completed in 1841 and 1850 respectively. Both works exemplify Schumann's Romantic orchestral language, featuring lyrical thematic writing, rich harmonic textures and varied orchestration, and they occupy notable positions in his symphonic output as an early symphonic statement and a later, more expansive work.
