String Quartets Op. 18 Nos. 1 & 2

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Alban Berg Quartett

String Quartets Op. 18 Nos. 1 & 2 are two of the six early string quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven, published in 1801. They exemplify Beethoven's early classical style, employing classical forms, conversational string writing and motivic development, and occupy a formative place in his chamber-music output as he synthesised Haydnesque models with his own developing voice.
