Cello Concertos
Album by Edward Elgar & Camille Saint‐Saëns & Shauna Rolston & Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra & Mario Bernardi
The Cello Concerto in E minor, Op.85 is a cello concerto by English composer Edward Elgar, completed in 1919. The work is late-Romantic in style, with spare, autumnal orchestration and long, singing cello lines that convey a restrained, elegiac mood, and it was among Elgar's last large-scale orchestral works written after the First World War.
