Piano Concerto no. 1
Album by Johannes Brahms & Arthur Rubinstein & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Fritz Reiner
Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, Op. 15 is the first piano concerto by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1858–59. The three-movement Romantic concerto combines symphonic orchestral writing with virtuosic piano passages, featuring dense textures, dramatic contrasts and a scope that signalled Brahms's emergence as a major symphonic and piano voice in mid-19th-century music.
