Le Roi David is an oratorio by Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, composed and first performed in 1921. Combining choral forces, soloists, spoken narration and chamber orchestra, the work mixes modal and neoclassical harmonies with rhythmic vitality and dramatic contrasts, and is an early large-scale piece that helped define Honegger's compositional voice in the years after the First World War.
