Symphony No. 4 'Romantic' is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, first completed in 1874. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic orchestral symphony characterised by expansive brass chorales, broad string melodies, dramatic contrasts and cyclic thematic returns, and it occupies a pivotal place in Bruckner's output as he refined his symphonic architecture and harmonic language.
