Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work exemplifies Rimsky-Korsakov's vivid orchestration and use of Middle Eastern-influenced themes and recurring motifs to evoke the storyteller and her tales, and it occupies a central place in the late-Romantic Russian orchestral repertoire as a demonstration of his mature style.
