Certain Blacks is an album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, released in 1970. The music is rooted in avant-garde and free jazz, with open-ended improvisation, collective textures, varied instrumental colour and prominent percussion, and it came during the group's early European period when they developed a multi-instrumental, theatrical approach to ensemble playing.
