Expectations is a studio album by American pianist Keith Jarrett, released in 1972. The music is rooted in post-bop jazz and mixes large-ensemble arrangements, electric and acoustic instruments and extended improvisation, and it came after his work with his quartet as an instance of him widening his sonic palette in his catalogue.
