Symphony no. 9 “From the New World” / “In Nature’s Realm”
Album by Antonín Dvořák & Symfonický orchestr Českého rozhlasu & Jaroslav Krombholc
This release is a recording of orchestral works by Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1893 and 1891 respectively. Rooted in the late Romantic idiom, the larger symphony reflects Dvořák's American-period influences through expansive melodies, folk-inspired motifs and broad orchestral colours, while the symphonic poem uses evocative, programme-driven writing to evoke pastoral and natural scenes and situates both works within his mature orchestral output.
First released: 1992
