Symphony no. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & hr‐Sinfonieorchester & Eliahu Inbal
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. The work blends late-Romantic orchestration with nocturnal and burlesque elements, featuring expansive orchestral textures, unusual instrumental colour and stark contrasts between sombre and playful moods, and occupies a transitional place in Mahler's output as he moved towards greater formal experimentation.
