Symphony No. 6 in B minor, 'Pathétique', is the sixth and final completed symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed in 1893. Rooted in the late-Romantic orchestral tradition, it is characterised by expansive, lyrical melodies, dramatic contrasts in mood and orchestration, and an unusually sombre slow final movement that marks a distinctive late statement in the composer's career.
