Concertos for Harpsichords, Recorders and Violins

Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Kölner Kammerorchester & Helmut Müller‐Brühl

Concertos for Harpsichords, Recorders and Violins is a set of instrumental concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed between c. 1717 and 1741. The works exemplify Baroque concerto practice, combining virtuosic solo writing for harpsichord and recorder with contrapuntal textures and ritornello structures, and they illustrate Bach's engagement with Italian concerto forms and his development as a composer of instrumental music.
