Symphonie fantastique
Album by Hector Berlioz & London Symphony Orchestra & Louis Frémaux
Symphonie fantastique is a program symphony by French composer Hector Berlioz, composed in 1830. The five-movement work employs a recurring thematic motif, expanded orchestral forces, bold orchestration and programme-driven narrative to explore dramatic contrasts and vivid orchestral colours, and it occupies a significant place in Berlioz's output and in the development of Romantic orchestral music.
