Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, "Pastoral" is the sixth symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1808. The work is programme-like in character, employing lyrical melodies, folk-like rhythms, rustic motifs and varied orchestral colours to evoke rural scenes and nature, and it reflects Beethoven's middle-period exploration of descriptive, outward-looking forms within the symphonic tradition.
