3 Sonates pour pianoforte is a set of three piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven, published in 1796. They use classical sonata forms with bold harmonic shifts, clear thematic development and technically demanding keyboard writing, and they show that Beethoven began to expand the expressive range of the piano sonata during his early career.
