Symphonie Nr. 1 c-moll op. 68

Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68 is the first symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1876. The work synthesises classical symphonic forms with Romantic orchestral language, characterised by dense textures, expansive developmental writing and dramatic brass and timpani passages, and it represents Brahms's first major orchestral statement after decades largely devoted to chamber music and piano compositions.
