Pictures at an Exhibition is a suite for solo piano by Russian composer Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, written in 1874. The programme work was inspired by a memorial exhibition of artworks and exemplifies Russian nationalist idioms and vivid pictorial writing, occupying a central place in Mussorgsky's mature piano output and the late 19th-century Russian repertoire.
