Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2

Album by Franz Schubert & Failoni Kamarazenekar & Michael Halász

Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2 are the first and second symphonies by the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1813 and 1814 respectively. They exhibit early Romantic orchestral writing rooted in Classical forms, featuring bright, lyrical themes, transparent textures and concise movements, and they document Schubert's emergence as a symphonic composer in his teenage years, anticipating the larger-scale symphonic experiments of his later career.
