Symphony no. 6
Album by Anton Bruckner & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Bernard Haitink
Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1881. Scored for a large late-Romantic orchestra, it features expansive, contrapuntal writing, broad climaxes and a relatively compact formal design compared with some of his other symphonies, and it occupies an intermediate position in his output that shows a transition between his earlier symphonic practice and the grander later works.
