Concerto Grosso, op. 3
Album by George Frideric Handel
Concerto Grosso, Op. 3 is a set of eight concerti grossi by Georg Friedrich Händel, published in 1734. The works use Baroque concerto grosso conventions with contrast between a small group of soloists and the larger ensemble, and they have dance rhythms, contrapuntal textures, rhythmic drive and varied orchestral sonorities; the set also shows Händel rework earlier material into pieces for public concert performance.
