Symphonie n°44 & 92
Album by Joseph Haydn & Philippe Entremont & Wiener Kammerorchester
Symphonies No. 44 and No. 92 are orchestral works by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, composed in 1772 and 1789 respectively. Both exemplify Haydn's mature Classical style: No. 44 is marked by darker, Sturm und Drang-inflected textures and compact forms, while No. 92 displays more expansive orchestration, lyrical melodies and structural clarity characteristic of his later symphonic output and its influence on the development of the Classical symphony.
