Symphonies nos. 2, 3

Album by Johannes Brahms & Staatskapelle Dresden & Kurt Sanderling

Symphonies Nos. 2 and 3 are orchestral compositions by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1877 and 1883 respectively. They illustrate Brahms's late-Romantic orchestral style, combining lyrical themes, complex harmonic writing and classical formal structures, and they follow his First Symphony as works that consolidate his approach to symphonic form.
