Geistliche Kantaten BWV 61 - 63
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Concentus Musicus Wien
Geistliche Kantaten BWV 61–63 is a set of sacred cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 1710s. The works exemplify Bach's early Baroque church music, employing contrasting vocal and instrumental forces, intricate counterpoint and liturgically orientated structures, and they sit within his development from court and chapel duties towards the larger-scale sacred compositions he later produced in Leipzig.
