Symphony No. 3 is the third symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1896. A large-scale late-Romantic orchestral work, it deploys vast orchestral forces including solo voice and chorus, moving through expansive, nature-inflected and philosophical material that pushed symphonic form toward programme-driven, theatrical proportions and marked a significant stage in Mahler's compositional development during the 1890s.
