Mass in C minor
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Kiri Te Kanawa & Ileana Cotrubaș & The John Alldis Choir & Philharmonia Orchestra & Raymond Leppard
The Mass in C minor, K.427, is a mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed in 1782–1783. A largely unfinished setting of the Latin Mass from his early Vienna years, it features substantial choral and orchestral forces, dramatic contrasts between soloists and chorus, and contrapuntal writing that reflects Mozart's developing approach to large-scale sacred composition.
