Symphony no. 7 in D minor, op. 70 / The Golden Spinning Wheel, Symphonic Poem, op. 109

Album by Antonín Dvořák & Royal Scottish National Orchestra & Neeme Järvi

This release is an album of orchestral works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, comprising a symphony composed in 1885 and a symphonic poem composed in 1896. The pieces exemplify Dvořák's late-Romantic orchestral language, combining folk-influenced melodies, rich orchestration and dramatic contrasts and illustrating a shift in his output from mature symphonic writing towards more programme-driven, narrative tone-poems in the 1880s–1890s.
First released: 1987
