The Symphonies

The Symphonies are a set of four symphonies by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed between 1854 and 1885. They represent Brahms's mature orchestral output, synthesising classical formal structures with expanded Romantic harmony and complex contrapuntal textures, and they helped shape symphonic practice in the late 19th century.
