Album by Bedřich Smetana & Antonín Dvořák & Julius Fučík & Oskar Nedbal & Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra & Libor Pešek
The Moldau is the second symphonic poem in the cycle Má vlast by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed in 1874. The work uses flowing orchestral motifs and contrasting pastoral and turbulent passages to depict the river's course through Bohemia, and it occupies a central place in Smetana's output and in the development of Czech national orchestral music.
